In temporary replacement of a colleague from our Customs team, we are looking for a hands-on Customs Officer. Do you feel at home in the port of Antwerp and do you share our passion for the world of soft commodities? Are you an advisor who likes to be accurately involved in the customs-oriented (administrative) handling of all incoming, outgoing and transit goods? Then definitely read on!
Your tasks are as follows:
Determining the value of the goods by assigning a customs tariff code based on the invoice
Preparation of customs declarations both electronically and manually
Checking and processing customs documents in Stream Software and passing them on to the relevant departments
Providing information and advice on customs matters.
Working together with the Customs Authorities for standard or more complex issues

The position in this vacancy is a critical position in the context of the Maritime Security Act of 1 January 2023. Persons who will be employed in this critical position are subject to a mandatory safety verification prior to performing the role.
The security verification is carried out by the Federal Police, State Security and the military intelligence service ADIV - and paid for by the (future) employer.
A positive safety advice is mandatory before starting in the position. If you refuse a security verification, you will no longer be eligible to serve in this critical position.

You are past the junior phase and can demonstrate relevant years of experience.
You are familiar with using Stream software.
You have already worked with PLDA web and NCTS Web.
You speak Dutch well and you're fluent in English et parles aussi un peu Français
You are accurate and have a great sense of responsibility
Temporary employment via replacement contract or agency work: period 8 months
Full-time employment: 38 hours/week
Start date: Preferably from May 2025
